During 2008, a habitat survey was carried out in Saxlingham Nethergate.
Two very important facts emerged:
-
Although the majority of the parish is given over to arable land, there is a wide range of habitats present including broadleaved woodland, common land, marshland and wildlife-rich hedge boundaries.
-
Less than 2% of the parish is ‘protected’ land with some form of legally designated conservation status.
