Whether you are interested in marine wildlife, wetland wildlife or arts and crafts, there is something for everyone. Every event is designed for children but enjoyable for all ages, making them a wonderful way for families to explore the natural world together. These are our regular family events:
Free Family Fun Days
Enjoy free entry to the reserve for every child and their accompanying adult all day, on the first Sunday of every month. There will be activities throughout the day, from birdwatching to arts and crafts.
Capturing Cley
Explore and film exciting coastal wildlife at Cley using handheld cameras, then watch your films on the big screen in our education centre.
Fantastic Minibeasts and Where to Find Them
Explore the wonderful wildlife that can be found in ponds and dykes.
Magical Moths
We’ll be identifying the enchanting moths that have been trapped the night before. Join us for a rare opportunity to see these fantastic night flyers during the daytime.
Coastal Creations
Explore and scavenge amongst the strandline to find natural materials to decorate your shingle sculptures. We’ll be there to tell you if you’ve collected bladderwrack or a bivalve shell.
Plankton Parties
Discover the huge variety of tiny animals (plankton) that live in the sea and why they are so important.
Bones, Beaks and Body Bits
Join us to explore the bones, beaks and body bits of some of Cley’s resident wildlife. We will be dissecting owl pellets looking for bones, exploring the lives of bats and examining the bones and body parts of a variety of creatures.
