National Marine Week - The Changing Face of the Saltmarsh

Friday 10 August, 2018
Angus Garbutt from CEH will talk about the popular perception of saltmarsh in the UK and how it has undergone several evolutions since medieval times, often undervalued and never universally appreciated. It is perfectly consistent with a body of land that changes its identity twice daily as the tide floods and ebbs that, according to the popular imagination, it should harbour an equally shifting and untrustworthy community.
