Managing our land for wildlife
Norfolk is an incredibly special place for nature, home to a high proportion of the UK’s most wildlife-rich habitats. To protect these amazing places, we manage over 60 nature reserves that, together, cover almost 5,000 hectares - equivalent to 1% of the county’s land.
From the wildlife-rich sand dunes and saltmarsh of the North Norfolk Coast to the uniquely wild and watery world of the Norfolk Broads, our dedicated staff and volunteers are creating and maintaining vital wildlife habitats every day and, in many cases, providing you the chance to enjoy time in these unique pockets of wilderness.
