Cockshoot Broad

Tucked away behind the larger NWT Ranworth Broad, Cockshoot is a peaceful Broadland oasis full of butterflies, dragonflies, water lilies and birds.

There are many damselflies which can be seen resting on the water lilies including variable and red-eyed damselfly.

You can explore NWT Cockshoot Broad on a Norfolk Wildlife Trust boat trip from NWT Ranworth Broad and Marshes. Boats usually run on Sundays in July and August, on a 2-hour trip. Please book these in advance via the Broads Wildlife Centre at Ranworth or phone 01603 270479.

Kingfisher
A piercing call followed by an all-too- brief flash of disappearing azure is often all that is seen of Britain’s most strikingly coloured resident bird. If you’re lucky, however, you may just get to watch one perched in trees from Cockshoot’s hide.

Access
Access to NWT Cockshoot Dyke boardwalk is by boat only, using the Broads Authority
24-hour moorings adjacent.
