Tigers, Pugs and Snouts

Join us as we open up the moth traps we set the night before to catch a glimpse into the fantastic world of these nocturnal creatures.
A bird in the hand…

Or, a bird on our recording sheet! We could not run a bio-blitz without recording the amazing array of birds found on this fantastic reserve.
Wild about flowers…
10.30am-12pm 1.30pm-3pm
Eyes down as we see how many different wildflowers we can find. Our expert will share some top tips on how to identify some of the key species we find.
In Search of Dragons (and damsels)
11am-12.30pm 2 -3.30pm
Pam Taylor, County Dragonfly Recorder, will show us how to identify some of the species that can be found on this fantastic reserve.
In search of peacocks, admirals, gatekeepers and other insects
11.30am-1pm 2.30-4pm
Francis Farrow will introduce us to some key identification features when spotting butterflies in flight and at rest, as well as helping us to spot other insects we may discover along the route.
All creatures (and plants) great and small
12.30-2pm 3 - 4.30pm
No creatures too big, no plant is too small. Join Nick Acheson as he tries to record as many different species as he can in a 1 ½ hour walk.

Dipping fun

From whirligigs to water boatmen, sticklebacks to water scorpions. Discover the amazing underwater world through this pond dipping session.
In search of our feathered friends
2 to 3pm
With binoculars in hand (don’t worry we have ones you can borrow) off to Bishop’s Hide we go in search of the birds that call NWT Cley Marshes home. From warblers to waders, herons to harriers we record all that we see in this fantastic feathery bioblitz.
