The importance of Norfolk’s coast cannot be overestimated, as over the past 20 years’ local discoveries have helped to change our perception of when and why our distant relatives first arrived on our shores. Deep History Coast is a new and exciting initiative, which integrates some of the county’s most significant archaeological and fossil sites in the landscape with museum collections. North Norfolk District Council with Norfolk Museums Service are currently working hard to bring the history of Norfolk’s outstanding coastline to life for visitors and locals alike as 2019 sees the beginning of North Norfolk’s Deep History Coast trail coming to life.
