Wilder Communities - Rooting together: a stroll around Happy Health Hethersett's community project
Event details
About the event
In 2022, volunteers from the Hethersett Environmental Action Team (HEAT) transformed a derelict skate park into a thriving, wildlife-friendly community garden. The space now features raised beds, fruit trees and welcoming seating areas.
Building on this success, a Community Tree Nursery was established in 2023 on the grounds of the Youth Club, just across the road. Its aim is to grow trees from locally gathered seed, strengthening biodiversity and preserving local provenance. On this tour learn how it all began, how they got their projects off the ground and their plans for the future.
