What's in a name? - historical workshop
, NR25 7SA
About the event
Every place-name has a story behind it – how it originated; what it means and what it reveals about Norfolk’s history and heritage. As well as a presentation about the significance of place-names, there will be practical mapwork. Though this workshop will focus on Norfolk, you can apply what you learn to any area of the UK and decode the place-names on your journeys. Anne Mason will be leading this half-day workshop and is a freelance heritage consultant specialising in developing and delivering projects that celebrate and conserve East Anglia’s heritage and wildlife.
