About the event

Flowing quietly through our landscape, Norfolk’s chalk streams are some of the world’s rarest and most treasured habitats.  Discover how projects across the county are improving water quality, re-shaping rivers to flow naturally, and reconnecting streams with their floodplains. Find out how wetlands are filtering pollution and how new habitats are boosting wildlife from insects to otters. This talk will also explore how these efforts are helping our rivers adapt to climate change while engaging local communities in their future.

Tim Fisher is Education and Engagement Team Leader for Norfolk Rivers Trust and has a background in landscape archaeology, practical coastal management, outdoor environmental education, and primary school teaching.   Tim leads the engagement programme, helping schools and communities connect with their river catchments through citizen science and volunteering days.
