Wilder Claylands
Building a vision for an ancient landscape
We’re exploring how, together, we can create a wilder Claylands over the next 25 years, and we’d like your help!
Helping nature recover right across a landscape takes everyone. It’s vital that we involve communities, businesses, landowners and decision-makers as we protect and restore wildlife in the south Norfolk Claylands. During our Claylands Wilder Connections project, we achieved some great outcomes for wildlife, learned a great deal and we have lots more ideas that we know will make an even bigger difference.
We are now creating a 25-year vision for the area’s wildlife and wild spaces, and we want to include your ideas and suggestions.

Have your say
To make sure our 25-year vision makes the biggest impact for wildlife and people, we want to hear from you - whether you’d like cleaner rivers, more access to nature, or to create an abundance of hedges, meadows and woodlands to help our wildlife thrive.
In the coming months, we’ll be:
- holding community workshops
- talking with landholders and farm cluster groups
- working with landscape experts to collect evidence that helps us understand what to do, and where to do it, so that we can make the biggest difference to our wildlife
How can I get involved?
Complete our online survey by 31 October 2025, or join us for tea, cake and a chat at one of the free events below (booking essential).

Once we’ve created our joint 25-year vision, we’ll begin our journey towards it by creating and delivering a five-year plan, which we will launch in early 2026.
