Cley Calling Presents interesting, thought-provoking, inspiring events exploring our connection to the natural world. Writers, artists, naturalists and more discuss their personal and creative responses to nature.
In this film, NWT Wildlife Ambassador, Nick Acheson is in conversation with Tim Dee – a lifelong birdwatcher and for the last decade a writer on birds and places and on some of the people who watch them. Tim is the author of
The Running Sky (a bird-based memoir) and of
Landfill (about rubbish, gulls, and gullers) and co-editor (with Simon Armitage) of
The Poetry of Birds.
His new book, on which this conversation is based, is called
Greenery: Journeys in Springtime. Before becoming a full-time writer he worked as a BBC radio producer for 30 years. He lives for half the year in the Fens and for half the year in South Africa.
