A walk through wild Norwich, with Patrick Barkham (1pm)
Event details
About the event
Join author and Guardian journalist Patrick Barkham for a walk through some of Norwich's wilder, quieter corners - the gaps between buildings where nature slips in, the overlooked verges, the green threads running through the city most of us walk straight past.
Rather than focusing on identifying species, this walk is about how a writer finds his stories in these hidden spaces - what he notices, what stops him in his tracks, what makes a place worth writing about. Expect good conversation and Patrick's own reflections on the craft of nature writing.
No notebook required. No pressure to write a word. If the mood strikes, there's an optional chance to try a few lines of your own at the end - but this is a walk first, with one of Britain's best nature writers as your guide.
This walk will be starting at St Andrews Hall as part of the Wild by Design event . Please arrive 15 minutes before the walk begins and speak to someone at the entrance.
