The hidden world of our seas: Adult plankton workshop
Event details
About the event
Join us for an exploration of the hidden life beneath the waves at Cley, and discover the extraordinary microscopic creatures that make the North Sea one of the most productive marine environments in the world.
Plankton play a vital role in supporting life in our seas, forming the foundation of the marine food web, sustaining everything from fish and seabirds to seals. Led by our guest plankton expert, Elizabeth, using plankton nets, we will collect samples from the sea. We will then examine our catch under the microscope, uncovering a world normally invisible to the naked eye, from intricate diatoms and hungry copepods to the larval stages of crabs and marine worms.
