The Art of Being a Mouse workshop (Credit: Dan Coombes)
The Art of Being a Mouse: A story and illustration workshop (for ages 6-13)
, NR25 7SA
About the event
Beginning with readings from The Adventures of Being a Mouse by the author James O’Neill, children will explore how you can bring an animal character to life.
Illustrator Dan Coombes will then guide them in creating their own expressive animal artwork using water-soluble graphite sticks and acrylic paint. Children will think beyond what their animal looks like, considering its personality, experiences and the feelings it might carry.
This creative, hands-on workshop combines storytelling and art, encouraging children to look closely at wildlife and use their imaginations to reveal the character beneath the fur, feathers or scales.
Suitable for children ages 6-13.
Each family group must have at least one adult attending. One accompanying adult per paying child is free of charge and does not need to buy an event ticket.
