Bringing back the beaver - an illustrated talk by Ursula Juta from Norfolk Rivers Trust
Event details
About the event
Beavers are a native keystone species, with a wide range of wildlife benefitting from the habitats they create. They provide proven benefits, including cleaning water, holding back floodwater, increasing groundwater recharge, enhancing biodiversity and capturing carbon. However, there were hunted to extinction in the UK around 400 years ago. This talk will illustrate the history of beavers in the UK landscape, as well as explore both the positive and negative aspects of reintroducing beavers into the British countryside.
