About the event

Join us for a celebration of Sloughbottom Meadows, our new youth-led reserve - and enjoy a packed programme of walks, talks and activities helping you connect with nature and experience the joy of this wild space. The event will begin at 1pm and finish at 7pm. 

Our Youth Forum have been actively transforming the reserve in preparation; building habitats, installing infrastructure and caring for the wildflowers. This free drop-in event is open for everyone and anyone to enjoy the space, meet the community, take inspiration from local grassroots action, and learn more about protecting wildlife. 

Programme:

Drop-in activities throughout day:

  1. Guided walks led by Youth Forum members throughout the day
  2. A drop-in craft activity using eco-friendly materials

 Special events:

3pm                    Talk by Kabir Kaul

3:30pm              Panel discussion with Youth Forum members

5pm                    Ice cream

By car:

It is free to park at Sloughbottom Park car park which is a short walk from Sloughbottom Meadows.

By bike:

Sloughbottom Meadows is beside the Marriott’s Way. Cycling from the city centre, keep going past Sloughbottom Park  and take the next right-hand turning.

By bus:

If you’re arriving by train you can take either the X29 or the 28, both from Tombland (stop Cm) and get off at Whiffler Road NW-bound. It’s then a short walk through Sloughbottom Park or Burnet Road to reach Sloughbottom Meadows.
