Swallowtail Safari with Patrick Barkham (1.30pm)
About the event
Join Patrick Barkham - President of Norfolk Wildlife Trust, award-winning nature writer for The Guardian, and author of The Butterfly Isles - for a search for one of Britain’s most spectacular and elusive butterflies: the swallowtail.
Found nowhere else in the UK outside the Norfolk Broads, this magnificent butterfly is one of our most iconic and treasured species. On this relaxed guided walk, Patrick will share his expert tips for spotting butterflies, along with stories from a lifetime spent observing wildlife.
We’ll explore the unique wetland landscape of NWT Hickling Broad — a haven for rare species and a stronghold for the swallowtail.
Expect a friendly, informal walk full of wildlife, conversation and discovery!
