Canoe safari: pizza and paddle on Hickling Broad (31 May 2pm)
Event details
About the event
This unique guided paddle takes you into parts of the reserve that simply can’t be reached on foot or by boat, offering a rare chance to explore the hidden dykes, quiet backwaters and wildlife-rich channels at the heart of the Broads. Led by our experienced guides, you’ll glide through reedbeds, watch dragonflies skim the water, and discover the secluded corners that make Hickling one of Norfolk’s most remarkable wild places. With expert interpretation along the way, this slow, peaceful journey gives you time to really take in the sounds, sights and stories of the Broad.
After your adventure on the water, return to shore and enjoy freshly prepared pizza, included as part of your experience. It’s the perfect moment to relax, compare sightings, and enjoy the setting from dry land. With strictly limited places, our canoe safaris offer an intimate, low-impact way to encounter Hickling — ideal for adults, families and anyone wanting to explore the reserve in a more immersive and memorable way.
Please note that the minimum age for children is 6 - please advise child ages at time of booking to ensure an appropriately-sized buoyancy aid is available. Canoes seat a maximum of three people. Each canoe must include at least one adult.
Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free pizzas will be available, please specify your preference on the booking form.
