About the event

Join Elaine Searle for this two-day workshop, produce a small ‘collection’ painting of natural treasures you may find on a walk. Examples will be shown and guidance given on composition and basic colour mixing/effects/textures. Suitable for novice and intermediate level and ideal for those who like careful observation and who have some experience of working in watercolour and/or pen.

Tuesday 12 May: 10.30am - 3.30pm

Wednesday 13 May: 10.30am - 3.30pm

Specimens provided - a selection of seed pods, shells, pebbles, dried leaves etc.

Equipment provided for use in class - a basic set of watercolour paints, fine black markers drawing pencils, sharpeners and erasers, brushes

Essential equipment (student will need to bring) - magnifying glass, rechargeable or battery operated task light, hot-pressed watercolour paper x 3 (A4 sheets)

No dogs permitted on the reserve. Visitors with dogs can walk Beach Road, along the shingle bank (northern reserve boundary) and East bank.
