Join us for a captivating guided walk where you’ll uncover fascinating facts about the elusive bittern - a master of camouflage and one of the wetlands’ most iconic birds. As we approach Bittern Hide, keep your ears tuned for the unforgettable booming call of the male bittern, echoing across the reeds as he attempts to attract a mate.
With patience, you may be rewarded with a rare glimpse of this pale, buff-brown heron emerging from the reeds - a truly special wildlife moment.

Events will take place in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe. Ensure that you dress appropriately for the weather with suitable footwear. Biting insects can be present at certain times of the year and you may choose to apply insect repellent as a precaution. In warmer weather, you may wish to bring a hat, sun cream and water.
Please also be advised to take caution when walking on a site with open water and ensure that you always remain on the designated paths.

Tickets are non-refundable unless the event or activity is cancelled by Norfolk Wildlife Trust. In the event that Norfolk Wildlife Trust has to cancel an event or activity due to low numbers, extreme weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control, we will inform you at the earliest opportunity and will offer a full refund.
