About the event

Inspired by Claire Wellesley-Smith’s book ‘Resilient Stitch’, Ann began a project to express climate change through embroidery. Each square tells a story about the impacts of climate change with contributions from all ages, including family, friends and followers on Instagram (@grannyplastic). Each embroidered square is a window into someone’s heart - a reflection of fear, loss, love for nature and the desire to protect what we hold dear. From wildfires and flooding to the loss of biodiversity and polluted oceans, its impact touches every aspect of life across the planet. You are invited to visit the exhibit and spend time with the stories behind each square. Reflect on your own emotional response to climate change - and consider creative ways to express or process it. Start conservations with friends, children, or your community about changes you see and actions we can take. Take action - whether its reducing plastic use, supporting biodiversity, advocating your policy change, or just joining local climate initiatives.
