About the event

Are you aged between 11-17? This group is for young people who are interested in the natural world, wanting to gain skills in natural history, help the environment, use their creativity, spend time at one of the UK's foremost nature reserves and make new friends! We meet every other month (plus some extra workshops).

Love nature? Into drawing? Just want to get outdoors and try something new? This month’s theme: Wildlife sketching.

We’re super excited to welcome Mark, a local artist who spends loads of time sketching birds right from our hides. He’ll be leading a creative session to help you draw from nature.

We’ll start off at the centre, then head out onto the reserve to one of the hides for the best kind of art class – surrounded by real, wild birds.

No pressure – everyone can draw! This is all about looking closer, learning new ways to see wildlife, and having a go. You don’t need any special skills, just curiosity and a bit of imagination. The session is all about sketching and having fun, not creating the most accurate drawings!

The session will be led by our Cley engagement officer, along with support from volunteers and session leaders. Please make sure young people are wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for being outside in the cold and the wet. All other equipment will be provided. Please be advised to take caution when walking on a site with open water and ensure that you always remain on the designated paths. Biting insects can be present at certain times of the year and you may choose to apply insect repellent as a precaution.
