About the event

Nature conservation and STEM have long celebrated diversity at every level in the natural world – from the atom to the biome – but have been slower to embrace human diversity, especially in comparison with fields such as the arts.

This friendly, accessible panel of LGBTQIA+ people in nature, the environment and STEM is hosted by Norfolk Wildlife Trust and brings together Dr Ellie Leech of the British Trust for Ornithology, Dr Sam Rowe and Gab Astorga of the Quadram Institute, and Ella Warren-Cooke and Nick Acheson (chair) of Norfolk Wildlife Trust. Contributors will discuss their experience as professionals in the field, what challenges they still experience, and the encouragement they can offer to young LGBTQIA+ people hoping to enter nature and STEM as a career.
