Go wild this summer with our nature challenge!

Lianne de Mello

Go wild and discover Norfolk’s wonderful wildlife with the kids in our summer nature challenge!

Looking for fun, budget-friendly activities that get the kids outdoors this summer holiday? We’re inviting you to take part in our summer challenge! We’ve put together 6 activities designed to get the family exploring, discovering more about nature and enjoying taking on the challenge together.

The exciting activities can be done in your back garden, a local green space, on our beautiful reserves – anywhere you can access nature. You don’t need to be a nature expert or have any specialist equipment to join in! From building homes for bugs and spotting birds, to enjoying a nature-themed picnic and getting creative, our challenge is a great way to spark curiosity and experience wildlife in fun new ways.

Spending time in nature is great for children’s wellbeing – inspiring curiosity, getting them moving, encouraging creativity and promoting relaxation. This challenge aims to help kids engage with the natural world around them, connecting to and valuing the wildlife that they find along the way.

As part of the challenge, you’ll take a trip to one of our fantastic visitor centres at Cley Marshes, Hickling Broad or Ranworth Broad, where you can take in the amazing wildlife, get stuck in with fun activities and events, and grab a tasty bite to eat. Kids go free to our visitor centres all summer – making it a great budget-friendly day out.

Once you’ve completed all 6 challenges, available to download for free on our website, simply submit your sheet (online or in person) by Friday 10 October to be in with a chance of winning £110 worth of vouchers and an adorable hedgehog adoption pack! You’ll be able to use the vouchers in our gift shops, cafes and even our popular boat trips from Hickling and Ranworth Broad
