Family events
Norfolk Wildlife Trust runs a programme of wildlife and nature-based family activities at our reserves and other wildlife hotspots in the county. Join us for fun and hands-on activities across Norfolk covering a range of wildlife topics.
Green-winged orchid
A short, but pretty plant of unimproved grasslands, the Green-winged orchid gets its name from the green veins in the 'hood' of its flowers. Look for it in May and June.
Long-winged conehead
The long-winged conehead is so-named for the angled shape of its head. It can be found in grasslands, heaths and woodland rides throughout summer.
Second-ever UK sighting of rare bird at Hickling
A black-winged kite has arrived at Hickling Broad and Marshes – the second-ever sighting of the bird in the UK and first for Norfolk.

Angel's wings
The angel's wings fungus grows in overlapping clusters in the coniferous woods of Scotland and north England. Its funnel-like, white caps have no stems.
