About the event

In a compelling and personal talk, Conor recounts his journey to uncover the natural history and elusive presence of the goshawk—a bird of prey often cloaked in mystery. His search led him to unexpected places both in the UK and abroad, with a special focus on Breckland, one of the species' strongholds since its return to British forests roughly 50 years ago. The talk will trace how this deeply personal adventure evolved into an award-winning essay, which earned him the BBC Wildlife Nature Writer of the Year accolade, and later, a book recognized with a Roger Deakin Award. With a background in conservation—including time with the Scottish Wildlife Trust—Conor now lives in West Norfolk and devotes himself full-time to writing.
