About the event

Join us for a relaxed, family-friendly wildlife walk around NWT Hickling Broad. Guided by our young volunteer and passionate birdwatcher Toby, you’ll explore scenic trails and discover the rich variety of wildlife that makes Hickling such a special place - with a special focus on the birds that call the reserve home.

This walk is perfect for all ages and experience levels - whether you’re a keen birder, a nature enthusiast, or simply looking to enjoy some fresh air and peaceful surroundings. Toby will share his knowledge, enthusiasm, and top tips for spotting and identifying birds along the way.

Please note that under 18's must be accompanied.

Free to book - adults who are non-members will need to pay the nature reserve entry fee at the visitor centre, on the day (£4.50 standard entry/£5 with Gift Aid).

What to bring

Please bring binoculars if you have them. A small number of pairs are available to hire at the visitor centre for a small charge. (There is a £60.00 deposit which will be refunded)

Important Health and Safety information

Events will take place in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe. Please ensure that you dress appropriately for the weather with suitable footwear. Please be advised to take caution when walking on a site with open water and ensure that you always remain on the designated paths. Biting insects can be present at certain times of the year and you may choose to apply insect repellent as a precaution. In warmer weather, you may wish to bring a hat, sun cream and water.
