About the event

Local Cley birder Chris Gooddie will tell us about his quest to see all of the world’s pitta species in one year, including one thought to have been extinct for half a century, a search which involved crossing the globe from Uganda to the Solomon Islands.  To conclude this absorbing story (told in his book ‘The Jewel Hunter’) he will bring us up to date with current knowledge of this beautiful but enigmatic group of forest birds.
