About the event

Come and join our Wayland Wood warden Rachael on a free guided walks to explore the sights and wildlife of this beautiful ancient woodland. This walk suitable for anyone who would like to learn more about the habitats and wildlife of the wood - no prior knowledge is required, only a desire to learn more.

Wayland Wood has uneven terrain, so we suggest wearing trainers, walking shoes or boots. Please dress for the weather and bring some water, as none is available on the reserve.

All under-18s must be accompanied by an adult, and only assistance/guide dogs are permitted on the reserve.

Please be advised to take caution when walking on a site with open water and ensure that you always remain on the designated paths. Biting insects can be present at certain times of the year and you may choose to apply insect repellent as a precaution. In warmer weather, you may wish to bring a hat, sun cream and water.
