100 oaks for 100 years
As we mark our centenary year, the future of Norfolk’s nature is at a tipping point.
Our wildlife is under more pressure than ever before and, without our protection, the future of the places and species we have all worked so hard to care for over the last century is in jeopardy.
We need your help to raise £100,000 to help secure the future for wildlife in Norfolk. Your donation could help us to continue to create a connected tapestry of habitats across the county, giving wildlife the space it needs to thrive. It could help us work with communities and landowners to create more places for wildlife and further connect people with nature.
Part of the story of Norfolk's nature forever
This year, as a special 'thank you' the first 100 supporters donating £500 or more have been invited to leave a lasting legacy at Norfolk’s largest ancient woodland by planting one of only 100 special centenary oaks. Thank you to all who took up this opportunity and donated so generously. While we are no longer able to offer centenary oaks, we may have similar future opportunities - please do email fundraising@norfolkwildlifetrust.org.uk to find out more. You can also still donate to our Centenary Appeal and help make a difference to the future of wildlife in Norfolk.

These centenary oaks have been grown from acorns harvested at NWT Foxley Wood and raised with great care by our President, Patrick Barkham. The saplings will be planted in our recently acquired arable land to the north of Foxley’s existing woodland, helping to create vital new habitat.
The first 100 supporters who donated £500 or more were offered:
- An invitation to join us for a special event and plant one of the 100 centenary oaks in dedicated groves on our new land at Foxley Wood.
- Acknowledgement of their support on a plaque that will be placed beside the groves on a new ‘centenary path’. You will be able to visit in future years to see the groves grow and become part of this nature reserve.
- An exclusive limited-edition (1 of 100) map of the newly expanded Foxley Wood and its wildlife, illustrated by Norfolk designer Beverley Gene Coraldean.
Pledges to fundraise £500 or more
We also invited individuals and groups to pledge to raise £500 or more. Those doing so were invited to join us at the celebration event and be acknowledged on a plaque. All pledges must be raised and paid in full by Monday 6 July 2026.
Though the centenary oaks are now all allocated, you can still pledge to fundraise towards our Centenary Appeal. Please get in touch if you would like to pledge to fundraise, or if you have any questions, by calling 01603 598351 or emailing fundraising@norfolkwildlifetrust.org.uk.
Our wildlife has never needed us more; any amount you are able to donate is a vital contribution to securing the future of Norfolk’s nature.
Thank you so much for your generous support in our centenary year.
