Thick-legged flower beetle Oedemera nobilis

This showy bright metallic green beetle is truly eye catching. It is often found on plants from the Asteraceae family – wild or exotics.  Check out the petals of any of this family for example chrysanthemums, cosmos, dahlias, marigolds, burdock, cat’s ear or hawksbeard, you never know what you might find lurking.

Conservation status

This showy bright metallic green beetle is not of conservation concern, in fact it may be increasing in number and range.
