Cley Calling Presents interesting, thought-provoking, inspiring events exploring our connection to the natural world. Writers, artists, naturalists and more discuss their personal and creative responses to nature.
In this film, NWT Wildlife Ambassador, Nick Acheson is in conversation with Guardian journalist and natural history writer, Patrick Barkham, whose book
Wild Child explores the raising of children who are more detached from nature than any human generation that has ever lived. In this timely and personal book, Patrick Barkham draws on his own experience as a parent and a forest school volunteer to explore the relationship between children and nature. Unfolding over the course of a year of snowsuits, muddy wellies, and sunhats, Wild Child is both an intimate story of children finding their place in natural world, and a celebration of the delight we can all find in even modest patches of green.
The film has been produced in support of Norfolk Wildlife Trust's Children And Nature Fund, which provides projects to connect children of all ages with wildlife and wild spaces through education, activities and inspiration.
