Outdoor Learning for Schools and Groups

Norfolk Wildlife Trust manages some of the most inspiring wild spaces in the county. Part of our vision is to reconnect people of all ages with wildlife. Our experienced education officers deliver a range of sessions which all aim to inspire pupils about the natural world through hands-on experience and encourage a caring approach for Norfolk’s wildlife.

Our reserve sessions are linked to the National Curriculum and can be tailored to most key stages and abilities. Each session is approximately an hour so you can choose a range of session to tailor a day which complements your pupils learning objectives.

Our outreach sessions inspire your pupils about the wildlife and the wild spaces on their doorstep, in your school. An outreach session can include an assembly to the whole school before working with individual classes outside in your school grounds.

Our school grounds advice aims to enhance the area for wildlife and outdoor learning. All aspects of the school grounds can be used to encourage wildlife with small changes. These small changes can be carried out by the pupils themselves to encourage wildlife.

Quality Badge - In March 2019 we once again achieved our Quality Badge awarded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom. This means that the quality of our education provision and risk management procedures have been nationally recognised. Local authorities encourage schools to use quality badge providers.
