High Tide Wader Roost Experience

Friday 24 September, 2021

A guided experience of the waders roosting at Holme Dunes NWT. The beach warden and or a member of the warden team will be guiding a wader watch where we will observe and count the variety and number of waders coming into roost. You'll also find out how far they have travelled to reach our shores and the struggles they face on arrival.

People of all ages and birdwatching experience encouraged however binoculars are essential and a spotting scope/telescopes if you have one would be very useful.

The details of the event are as follows: We will meet 15mins before the event is due to start. The meeting place is at the end of Beach Road beyond the turning to Broadwater road where the large village car park is available. We will then walk out as a group to the watch point and observe for around 2hrs.

The event is free for both members and non-members however you may have to pay parking charges at the village car park especially if you decide to stay for the day.
