Farmland hedgerow

National Hedgerow Week - free guided farmland walk

Thursday 09 May, 2024

NWT Volunteer Susan will guide you along a 6km circular farmland walk around Bradenham Hall Farm Estate.

The route follows farm tracks, field margins and green lanes. We will pass hedgerows and coppices. Along the way there will be an opportunity to learn about hedgerows: how best to manage a growing hedge, what makes a good hedgerow and the value of a well-managed hedge to wildlife. There is far more to a hedge than first meets the eye. Why not come along and find out for yourself?

Walking difficulty: Easy to moderate. There is one gentle but prolonged slope near the start of the route. Some of the tracks can be muddy when wet and may be rough around field margins. Please wear appropriate footwear.

Dog policy: Please respect the countryside code. The walk is across farmland. Well-behaved dogs must be kept on leads at all times throughout the route. And please bring poo bags too. Owners are responsible for clearing up any mess their dog makes. Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but memories.

All children aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
