Norfolk Wildlife Trust is set to receive 20% of the retail price from watches sold by a new business.
Awemix Watches has been founded with the aim of offering a colourful accessory and raising funds for good causes. The timepieces are stocked in five stores in Norwich with 20% of the retail price going to Norfolk Wildlife Trust and breast cancer charity, Keeping Abreast.
Michael Niman said he hoped the watches would raise awareness for charities as well as raising funds. “The watches show something you believe in and start up a conversation, which raises awareness for the charity. I started it because I wanted to wear something which showed causes I was passionate about.”
Head of Development at Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Nik Khandpur said: “We are pleased to be one of the charities set to benefit from Michael and Sandy’s initiative. It is great that they want to support a number of conservation charities and we were delighted that we were voted in as one of the first. The resulting donation will help NWT protect vital habitats in Norfolk – a big ‘tick’ for wildlife.”
