Sessions: freshwater invertebrates

This session focuses on the variety of life in ponds and dykes, and examines the relationship between these species. We will also look at the connection between environmental conditions such as water quality and population dynamics.  This session can also be carried out at NWT Hickling Broad for a comparison study.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand interactions between freshwater species including predation, competition and food webs resulting in species adaptation
  • Understand that species are adapted to their environment
  • Encourage a caring approach for Norfolk’s wildlife and an appreciation that water is connecting to all living things
