Sessions: coastal management

Coastal management is an interactive session looking at our changing coastline. Set on the beach pupils will understand how waves are created, and discover what processes affect our coastline. Students will question the value of coastal areas from both an economic and environmental perceptive, focussing on the storm surge of 2013. We will examine the role of coastal defences and discuss various management methods. This session can be enhanced to include data collection and offers a great case study of a local coastal habitat.
