Ted Ellis - A Free Spirit including Brief Lives and Bird Artists of East Anglia

This popular DVD includes three films that tell the story of the much loved eccentric Norfolk Naturalist and internationally respected scientist Ted Ellis (1909 – 1986) who had the unique ability to communicate his love of nature through 40 years of writing and broadcasting.

Brief Lives is a charming film about the fortunes and hazards of swallows and wrens nestling in the roof of a garage.

Bird Artists of East Anglia is an introduction to the rich heritage, including a visit to Stiffkey Marshes in Norfolk with local artist Steve Cale to learn the skills of painting at a coastal landscape.

The film includes material made for BBC East, by John Mountford Studios, with some previously unseen footage.
