Directions and Transport
By car: NWT Ranworth Broad is close to the village of Ranworth in the heart of the Broads. 3km West of Acle, turn North off the A47, into B1140 and go into S Walsham (right turn). Take the first left after the Post Office, to Ranworth. In Ranworth look for signs for Broads Wildlife Centre Car Park (right turn).
By train/bike: the reserve is a 25 minute cycle ride from Salhouse and Acle stations which have regular train services to Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Sheringham. Cycles can be taken on trains on both lines, although booking is recommended.
By bus: the 124 bus runs from Norwich City Centre through Panxworth and South Walsham, both of which are approximately a mile’s walk from the reserve.

Ferry Trips
A 5-minute ferry trip between Malthouse Staithe and the Broads Wildlife Centre.
On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays:
From Malthouse Staithe to the Broads Wildlife Centre runs at 10.30am, 12 noon, 1.45pm, 3.15pm.
From the Broads Wildlife Centre to Malthouse Staithe runs at 11.30am, 1pm, 2.45pm and 4.15pm.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays:
From Malthouse Staithe to the Broads Wildlife Centre runs at 1.45pm and 3.15pm.
From the Broads Wildlife Centre to Malthouse Staithe runs at 2.45pm and 4.15pm.
Cost: A one way fare £1.50 for adults, £1 for members, 50p for children.
Ranworth Broad Water Trail
A 45-minute water trail around NWT Ranworth Broad. Leaves from the Broads Wildlife Centre and includes a free one way ferry trip.
On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays:
Runs at 10.45am, 12.15pm, 2pm, 3pm.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays:
Runs at 2pm and 3.30pm.
Cost: £6 for adults, £5 for members, £3 for children and £2.50 for child members.
Cockshoot Broad Water Trail
A new two-hour water trail and walk to NWT Cockshoot Broad. Please bring a drink, sun cream and good footwear. Booking is essential for this trip to avoid disappointment.
Runs from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Cost: £10 for adults, £8 for members and £6 for children.
What to look for
Spring/summer
swallowtail butterfly, marsh valerian, milk parsley, common tern.
Autumn/winter
ospreys on migration, sphagnum moss.
Year round
Cetti’s warbler, great crested grebe, cormorant, marsh harrier, kingfisher.
Access by canoe: mooring available adjacent to Broads Wildlife Centre during opening hours Easter – October. No access into Ranworth Broad.
