Can you help Norfolk Wildlife Trust map the best areas for walks, views and wildlife in two key areas in Norfolk? NWT is holding two roadshows to collect information from local communities about the area in which they live.
In the Bure Valley and the Gaywood Valley Living Landscapes, NWT has begun a two-year project to engage communities with landscape-scale conservation by providing opportunities to discover, explore and take action for wildlife.
On Friday 28 February in King’s Lynn and Saturday 1 March in Hoveton we are holding two roadshows. (Addresses below.) Local people are invited to come and tell us: where you like to walk in the Living Landscape; any areas that are great for wildlife; where your favourite landscape view is; and importantly, any local green spaces that you would like to improve for wildlife.
Both roadshows run 7 till 9pm and include an illustrated talk 7.30-8.30 on photographing wildlife. Refreshments will be available. There is no need to book and the events are free to attend.
The next two years will be packed with opportunities for people in the Bure Valley and Gaywood Valley to get involved in their Living Landscape. We want to map the two Living Landscapes areas to see where opportunities lie to develop wildlife-rich areas. We aim to stimulate local people to care for and take sustainable action for wildlife, by offering training, inspiring events and support.
Head of People and Wildlife, David North said: “Help us make Norfolk a truly amazing Living Landscape. Explore the Living Landscape project areas, discover the habitats and wildlife in your local area that makes Norfolk so special and take action to help protect your local wildlife.”
Norfolk Wildlife Trust is being supported in its aims by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, Essex & Suffolk Water, Broads Authority Sustainable Development Fund, John Jarrold Trust, Dow (King’s Lynn) and Pennycress Trust.
