A surprising visitor was noticed by Trust member, Darren Williams, on the Living Landscape wetland creation site near
Hilgay. A common seal was in the River Great Ouse, seen from Ten Mile Bank. Darren took some fantastic pictures, including one of the seal eating a pike. Although seals have been seen in Fenland rivers before, including a common seal filmed near St Ives in the New Year, it’s certainly an unexpected find; lucky Darren had his camera with him.
