Volunteering

Welcome to the volunteer web page of Norfolk Wildlife Trust. This section is devoted to all NWT’s volunteers, who play a very important part in the success of Norfolk Wildlife Trust and its commitment to work for the protection and enhancement of wildlife and wild places in Norfolk.

It is amazing to consider that collectively the Wildlife Trusts have around 1,700 staff and over 32,000 volunteers. The success of the Trusts depends on their ability to encourage participation of people from all walks of life and sectors of society in urban and rural areas. Wildlife Trusts can provide opportunities for people to be involved and enjoy the wildlife close to home, and help to improve or protect a local area. Volunteers, for their part, help the Trusts to make a positive contribution to their environment and forge links with local communities. This brings a greater understanding of the work done by the Wildlife Trusts as they stand up for our wildlife and our threatened wild places.

Some of the ways you can help:

  • Join education activities*
  • Help keep visitor centres running
  • Join work parties
  • Help with local Members Groups

*In order to work with young children it is necessary to have a Criminal Records Bureau Certificate, (CRB), together with two character references.
