Many companies and their staff choose to support Norfolk’s wildlife, countryside and environment by forming a partnership with Norfolk Wildlife Trust. From corporate membership to staff challenges, there are many ways you and your company can get involved.

Our Investors in Wildlife corporate membership scheme is tiered to enable companies of any size and from all sectors to join us. The support you choose to pledge demonstrates to your staff, partners, customers and the general public that your business is committed to local wildlife, people and the environment of Norfolk.

Starting at £350, the tiered scheme allows you to choose the level of support that you feel best represents your company and its aims and responsibilities. At the higher levels, we can customise your membership package to meet your needs and to contain the actual benefits you feel are important to you and your staff.

Please contact 01603 625540 for a copy of our brochure and application form. Your company will receive the following benefits:

Working on the Wild Side

Employee volunteering with Norfolk Wildlife Trust is a fantastic opportunity for staff team building and personal development outside of the normal working environment. It is also a great, interactive way for companies to make a positive and practical difference to local wildlife.

We have a calendar of tasks suitable throughout the year. Full training on the use of tools will be given on the day, and expert Trust staff will be on hand at all times to supervise. A charge of £35 per person for Investors in Wildlife members and £50 for non members is made to cover our costs.

Phil Spiby from UK Power Networks said: “team challenges develop new skills, enhance team working, bring colleagues together and our employees really enjoy them. At UK Power Networks we recognise the benefits they bring to our company as well as taking satisfaction from producing tangible benefits for wildlife and the local community.”

Director of Development and Engagement, Nik Khandpur said: “Employee volunteering is a win-win situation both for the staff of local companies and for nature conservation in Norfolk. We are always hugely impressed with the effort our volunteers put in to help us with our crucial management habitat work.”

To discuss how your company, or the company you work for can get involved with employee volunteering, please email James Hogg or phone him on 01603 625540.

Thanks to all our Investors in Wildlife

Across Norfolk, we are working in partnership with local companies to safeguard local wildlife, protect wild places and reconnect people with the environment.

Whether through corporate donations, sponsorship, support in kind or making Norfolk Wildlife Trust your charity of the year, there are a number of ways in which your company or organisation could help with a local nature project. Or you can encourage them to do so. To find out how you can get involved please contact James Hogg on 01603 625540 or email [email protected]

Dow

Dow has pledged £6,000 a year to support our education and community work in the Gaywood Valley. Last year it enabled us to reach over 1,000 children and adults through school visits, family events and outreach activities.

Aviva

Since 2012, 34 groups of staff from Aviva have taken part in work parties held at NWT reserves. These brilliant corporate volunteers completed a huge amount of work to benefit wildlife and habitat.

Current opportunity!

Natterjack toad, photo by Karl ChartersHolme Dunes is one of the most important sites for Natterjack Toads and this project focuses on supporting the fragile habitat that the natterjacks require to survive and flourish.  We need your help to keep this vital habitat in prime condition through turf stripping, vegetation management and scrub clearance. NWT is seeking support to carry out specific elements of this important habitat restoration work.

Funding of £1,800 would deliver 5 days of pond profiling with a digger to carefully profile the sides of the ponds and ensure they are of optimum depth and size for the natterjacks.  Alternatively £550 would support five days of warden time on site managing the volunteer management, scrub clearance, pond scraping and grass cutting required to keep the natterjack habitat in ideal condition over the year.

Please contact Jane Ryan on 01603 598309

Environmental Ethics Statement

It is a requirement of the NWT business strategy, as well as best practice, that we adopt a new environmental ethical policy and action plan to guide sponsorship, investment and purchasing decisions. In agreement with the NWT Council, the following statement was adopted in March 2013 and updated in January 2016.

Our approach

Norfolk Wildlife Trust is committed to an environmentally ethical approach to its relationships with funders, suppliers and investors. We particularly welcome relationships with companies and individuals that:
  • support our charitable objectives and vision for a sustainable environment for Norfolk’s wildlife and people;
  • practise an environmentally friendly and responsible approach to their own activity, taking steps to address their own environmental impact and encourage sustainability.
Where possible, we will work with businesses to encourage best practice environmentally and welcome opportunities, through our partnerships, to promote conservation and restoration benefits. We will also seek to influence activities and educate against practices that may be damaging to the environment.

We have a commitment to generating income for our charitable objectives and vision. In so doing:
  • We will seek funds and services from any business, individual or organisation provided the receipt of those funds or services does not compromise our charitable objectives and vision for a sustainable environment particularly for Norfolk’s wildlife and people.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw from or decline a relationship where the business, individual or organisation adversely affects or is perceived to adversely affect:
  1. the environment
  2. NWT’s ability to carry out statutory obligations
  3. NWT’s ability to accept other gifts or donations from other sources
  4. the reputation of Norfolk Wildlife Trust
  5. Or is perceived to be engaged in unethical or unlawful activities
We do not allow our partnerships to influence our own activity.
