West Norfolk Heathlands Officer

£20,000 - £22,500pa depending on experience

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our West Norfolk reserve management team to work on some of the County’s premier nature reserves. You will need a working knowledge of the ecology and practical management techniques used to maintain heathland, mire, grassland and woodland habitats and species and will have experience of livestock management, chainsaw use, invasive weed control and use of tractors and machinery for conservation. Good organisational, administrative and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team.

Ecological Assistant - Norfolk Wildlife Services

£13,000 - £14,500 p.a. pro rata (depending on experience).
Full time (35 hours per week) for a period of 6 months commencing end March

Norfolk Wildlife Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of Norfolk Wildlife Trust undertaking environmental consultancy work with a county and regional focus.

An Ecological Assistant is required to work with our small team.  Work to include organising and giving administrative support to consultancy projects, offering IT and GIS skills, and some support to the team in their ecological field work.  The successful candidate will be expected to show high levels of initiative, self-motivation and accept working under tight deadlines.  Knowledge of nature conservation and/or commercial consultancy work would be advantageous.

We are looking for highly motivated people who have a passion for Norfolk and its spectacular wildlife and can help raise vital funds for the Trust through increasing our membership. You will be responsible for recruiting new supporters for the Trust door to door, by handing out and then collecting in our charity booklets. This is a well-practised approach to fundraising and we have a track record of great results. If you are a good communicator, organised, enjoy meeting people and want to do your bit for the county’s fabulous wildlife, please apply. Hours are to suit the recruiter but evening and weekend working will bring you by far the best results.
